Yarra Valley Water is Melbourne’s largest retail water utility, providing essential water and sanitation services to more than 2 million people and over 58,000 businesses. Our service area covers most of Melbourne’s northern and eastern suburbs, from Wallan in the north to Warburton in the east, across approximately 4,000 square kilometres.
We buy water from Melbourne Water to distribute to our customers. We are also responsible for removing and treating sewage. Most sewage is transferred to Melbourne Water’s Eastern or Western Treatment Plants, while the rest is treated at our nine regional plants, several of which produce recycled water for use in homes, sports fields, and public spaces.
At our core we are a purpose driven business, supporting the health and wellbeing of our customers, and creating a brighter future for communities and the natural environment.
As a graduate, you’ll rotate between a number of our strategy and delivery IT teams, learning a broad range of skills from providing software and hardware support to our staff, how technology projects are planned and executed, how our networks are setup and maintained including optimisation for reliability and security, and the advantages of working in cross functional teams to deliver end to end solutions which address real business problems. Along the way we will also help you develop your soft skills including communication (both verbal and written), having difficult conversations, stakeholder management, and how to work effectively as part of a high performing team.
You will work closely with other graduates and be exposed to the broader water industry as we partner with the Melbourne Metro Water authorities to provide you with a collaborative professional development program. Together you will have access to training and valuable networks.
