Personal Statement

I completed my Bachelor of Health Science, majoring in Nutrition and Food Science in 2012 and I originally intending to undertake a Master of Dietetics. However, during my Bachelor I undertook a unit on Health Promotion; by the time I had completed this unit I was convinced that I could make more of a difference to health at a population level than I could working with individuals. I then commenced my Master of Health Promotion.\nI have really enjoy studying Health Promotion and achieved a High Distinction mark for my thesis. \nAfter many years working in a low-income area community pharmacy, I understand the importance of promoting social equality to increase chances of health equity.\nI am excited to begin a career which will give me the opportunity to use the skills I have developed and to continue to advance my knowledge.
