Employment

  • Company Name:
    Staff Member at BOOSH
    Description:

Working as a staff member I have the task of looking after children before and after school hours. It is a requirement I have a Working With Children's check and a Senior First Aid Certificate. Each session we provide activities for the children and in the afternoon we also prepare food for the children. On any given session, there are over 140 children at the centre.

  • Company Name:
Area Supervisor at Royal Agriculture Society of NSW
    Start - End Dates:
    Description:

The Royal Easter Show is an annual event hosted in Sydney. As an area supervisor I had the task of communicating and understanding the needs of the exhibitors. As the only supervisor looking after two large areas, the task was much more demanding compared to the other supervisors and I met the challenge with both hands. Working every single day meant there were a need to stay alert over the course of two weeks. \r\n\r\nOne event which was an unfortunate highlight was an incident involving a young child who collapse and went into a seizure like state. The parents were so traumatic as they hadn't experienced anything before. Actions of my supervision came into place by calling the medics onto the scene and giving clear location to the site. I had first aid training and knew what was required to allow the child space to recover before we inform him about the situation.
