About our Team

The Australian Submarine Agency (ASA) is a diverse and integrated organisation comprising civilian and military personnel working together to deliver Australia's conventionally armed, nuclear-powered submarine program.

Executive Assistants play a vital role across the Agency, providing high-level administrative and executive support to senior leaders in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Depending on business needs, successful candidates may be placed within a range of branches and divisions, supporting the delivery of key Agency priorities and strategic objectives.

Working within ASA provides the opportunity to engage with a broad range of stakeholders, contribute to meaningful and nationally significant work, and be part of a collaborative and professional workforce.

The successful candidate will be required to be based in Canberra and attend the office on a regular basis. This is primarily an onsite role, with only limited opportunities for remote work.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a high level of integrity, along with strong communication and organisational skills to effectively manage competing priorities and contribute to the delivery of branch, division, and Australian Submarine Agency (ASA) objectives.

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

  • The ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software applications, with well-developed skills in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, supported by excellent organisational abilities.
  • A positive, proactive attitude and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development, while exercising sound judgement, integrity, and discretion.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to take ownership of tasks and ensure work is completed accurately and to a high standard.
  • Well-developed stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including senior executive-level personnel.
