Accounting Internship Program - Spring/Summer 2024

CareerDC Internships charges a fee for coordinating each internship program. You will get a tailored resume, interview training, unlimited interviews, access to our network of host companies, an internship placement relevant to your studies, an accredited WIL course (where applicable), and support during your internship placement.

The Accounting Internship Program is designed for accounting students in Australia who want to gain practical experience with local businesses while earning academic credit. 

This 12-week program is open to both domestic and international students, as well as recent graduates from Australian colleges and universities.

The program includes an internship placement that offers an in-depth look into the accounting sector, enhances your professional communication skills, and provides hands-on experience with tools like Xero and MYOB.

If you are a new graduate, or if your degree doesn’t require an internship, you can enrol in the Accounting Internship Program and combine your work experience placement with the accredited Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Program.

To give you examples, the host companies include: 

• Centrally located accounting firms
• Companies offering accounting, bookkeeping and tax-related services
• Accounting departments of businesses in different industries

Depending on your host company, your internship may involve any mix of the following types of learning experiences:

• Assisting with financial reports and tax returns
• Learning about invoice processing and reconciliations
• Supporting the preparation of financial statements
• Gaining insights into compliance, including reporting, auditing, and analysis
• Assisting with bookkeeping tasks
• Using accounting software and tools like Xero, Excel, Saasu, and MYOB
