Accounting Internship Program - Winter 2024

CareerDC Internships charges a fee for coordinating each internship program. You will get a tailored resume, interview training, unlimited interviews, access to our network of host companies, an internship placement relevant to your studies, an accredited WIL course (where applicable), and support during your internship placement.

Get industry experience in accounting, develop your professional communication skills, and get hands-on practice using accounting software such as Xero or MYOB.  

The Accounting Internship Program is for accounting students in Australia. It’s good for you if you are seeking industry experience with local businesses and want an internship that gives you academic credit and counts towards your degree.

The internship program is an excellent fit for international students studying in Australian colleges or universities. It is also open to domestic Australian students. 

If you have already graduated or your degree doesn’t require an internship, you can enrol in the Accounting Internship Program and combine your work experience placement with the accredited Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program. 

As a few examples, the host companies include: 

• Centrally located accounting firms
• Companies offering accounting, bookkeeping and tax-related services
• Accounting departments of businesses in different industries

As another example, your  internship could include any combination of the following types of experiences, depending on your host company

• Assistance with financial reports and tax returns
• Assist with financial statements
• Assisting with bookkeeping
• Learning about invoice processing and reconciliations
• Learning about compliance, inc. reporting, auditing and analysis
• Using accounting software and other tools such as Xero, Excel, Saasu, MYOB

The internship program is facilitated by CareerDC. Since 2011, we have been coordinating degree-related work experience placements to help international and domestic students get hands-on industry experience with Australian businesses and organisations. 

The internship program will be matched to your needs and preferences, including the total length of the internship placement, start date, and location.
