The Electrical Engineering Internship Program is a great fit for students who want to gain work experience in their study subject and get academic credit for the internship.

The internship program is particularly suitable for you if you are an international student in Australia. The aim of the program is to help engineering students gain relevant and practical work experience with local businesses. It is open to domestic students too.

Have you graduated already? Or what if an internship is not part of your university’s requirements? That’s fine. You can apply for the internship program and combine your work experience placement with an accredited Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program.

The internship program is facilitated by CareerDC, work experience placement coordinators. We’ve been helping students get industry experience by connecting them with internship host companies since 2011.

The Electrical Engineering Internship Program will be matched with your internship needs and preferences, including start date, duration and location.

To give you some examples, the host companies include:

  • a leading supplier of environmental and scientific instruments,
  • an electronics manufacturer, and
  • a centrally located business focusing on environmental sustainability.

As another example, and depending on the host company, your internship could include any of the following types of tasks and experiences:

  • operating software programs such as iCloud or AWS,
  • working alongside a variety of technicians,
  • assisting with the coordination of installation or testing activities,
  • software, circuits, and switchboard manufacturing,
  • building simulation and analysis, and
