About the Opportunity

Maitland City Council's Pathways program is a fantastic way to kick-start your career and gain professional experience in local government!

Commencing in July 2024, for a period of 18 months ending December 2025, we are looking for a Graduate Community & Recreation Liaison Officer to join our organisation.

In this role, you will undertake a graduate program developed specifically for you, giving you exposure to a variety of functions across our Community & Recreation Team. Being involved in planning for our community infrastructure and community programs. These duties are going to help you develop a solid foundation for your Community & Recreation career and help you grow from the ground up!

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

· Degree level qualifications in planning, public policy, social and behavioural sciences or a related discipline, within the previous two years

· Contemporary industry knowledge and ability to apply theoretical concepts to practice in community & recreation planning

· Experience in effectively prioritising tasks with an ability to meet deadlines and continuously improve processes

· Current Class C driver's licence

Benefits

This Graduate position is temporary full time (18-month contract commencing July 2024 and ending December 2025) with a salary range of $68,669 up to $83,502 per year, based on experience, plus 11% p.a. superannuation.
