The role

The TAG Graduate Systems Officer role focuses on supporting the Waste and Cleansing team with the deployment of new technologies and the management of existing applications. You will work with Information Services to design and enhance back-end systems that deliver valuable and user-friendly data. Your responsibilities will include exploring automation and optimisation opportunities through technology, including AI. Additionally, you will aid in developing and implementing solutions for data visualisation, enabling the Waste and Cleansing team to monitor and enhance performance and efficiency.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Support the Waste and Cleansing team in the rollout and implementation of new technologies.
  • Collaborate with vendors to perform testing and make necessary refinements.
  • Partner with Information Services to develop back-end systems, dashboards, and integrate with waste contractor systems.
  • Identify and gather reporting requirements for the unit, leveraging technology to enhance accuracy and automate processes.
  • Review and streamline waste processes with relevant managers and team members to optimise efficiency.
  • Maintain and manage databases.

You will have

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Strong computer literacy, organisational, and time management skills, with experience in Microsoft Windows and other Microsoft Operating Systems.
  • Understanding of the OSI model and extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Familiarity with local government waste management responsibilities and experience with vehicle camera, telematics, and GPS systems is desirable but not essential. Proficiency in data management systems, Apple product troubleshooting, and the Microsoft Power Platform is also preferred but not required.

The salary range for this opportunity starts at $69,728 (Grade D, Step 1) + 11.5% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
