In this role you will assist Local Governments across the Western Australian landscape to accelerate their urban forest initiatives and build sector capacity, and understanding, of this very important policy area.
Working directly with member Local Governments, you will be distributing and managing a substantial grant program, the Urban Greening Grant Program, which is being managed by WALGA, on behalf of the State Government.
This role provides the opportunity to:
- Work with participating Local Governments to facilitate knowledge sharing and provide tools, advice, and assistance to assist in urban forest planning.
- Showcase your exceptional stakeholder engagement experience by building and maintaining positive relationships, providing tools, advice, and assistance, and utilise your problem-solving skills.
- Have the rare opportunity to work alongside WALGA’s Planning and Building team and manage the WALGA Urban Forest Working Group.
- Utilise your research skills to develop Urban Forest grant application forms, guidelines and agreements.
