Position Purpose

Internships are the primary entry point into a sales and marketing career at Lilly, with many interns having the opportunity to apply for ongoing permanent roles within their preferred team/location.

The Sales Internship Program is a paid 12 week program for recent university graduates and postgraduate students and for those students who are eager to kickstart their career in medical sales.

The program is focused on giving you hands-on experience and support in selling across multiple areas, while choosing a unique career path that suits your interests and skills. Join us and gain experiences in:

  • Promoting Lilly's products to health care professionals
  • Conducting analyses on product and market trends
  • Developing and executing territory business plans
  • Coordinating efforts with territory partners in a team environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Your ability to achieve sales targets by promoting products to targeted customers
  • Your ability to develop strong relationships with targeted customers delivering customer satisfaction
  • Promote the image of Lilly ANZ across various areas
  • Represent the company at scientific and industry meetings and events
  • Develop & maintain knowledge of products, competitors, and market developments
  • Be a strong team player and work collaboratively and professionally alongside all colleagues
  • Able to use technology effectively in ensuring all duties are carried out effectively 
  • Ensure all activities comply with legal and ethical standards and company policies

Requirements for the Sales Internship Program

  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or have Australian Permanent Residency status at the time of application
  • You will need to be available to commence full time employment from the 30th of September for the 12-week program

  • Stakeholder engagement - the ability to work collaboratively, build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Scientific knowledge and application - a demonstrated ability to understand and disseminate scientific information 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to share relevant and high-quality information
  • Planning and execution - an ability to review data, strategically plan actions that are implemented with the desired outcomes and accountability for these actions.
  • High level organizational skills - the ability to prioritize and deliver on customer requirements and complete all administration tasks within required time frames
  • Learning agility - to be able to effectively deal with a wide variety of people and challenging situations, being comfortable with complexity and examining problems carefully.
