About Merchants Advisory

We are a young, dynamic, insolvency and restructuring specialist accounting and advisory firm located in Sydney CBD. Our mission is to deliver the best option for each client, with excellence and integrity. We are currently seeking two (2) Insolvency & Restructuring Intern Accountants to support our team.

The Role

As an Insolvency & Restructuring Intern Accountant, you will work closely with our team on live client engagements. You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with insolvency and restructuring accounting, as well as learn about business procedures and file management tasks. This internship will also help you build strong business communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the team with client engagement tasks and file management 
  • Learning insolvency and restructuring accounting and the types of insolvency and restructuring engagements
  • Assisting file accountants with reporting tasks
  • Developing strong business communication skills
  • Collaborating with other team members as needed

Requirements

  • Recent graduate in Accounting, Business, Commerce, Finance or similar
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Have initiative, are self-motivated and a quick learner
  • Strong work ethic and enthusiasm 
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team
  • No local or previous experience required – all training is provided

Other Relevant Information

  • 6 month position to commence late January / February 2024
  • Visa holders with a legal right to work full time in Australia are eligible to apply
  • You will get a reference after successful completion of the practical work experience
  •  Based on performance, after the 6 month contract, a permanent full-time role may be offered.
