About the role

We are looking to hire a Freight & Logistics Graduate to manage our freight providers to maximise productivity, reduce costs and improve overall process efficiency. This is a unique opportunity for a self-starter to make a real difference and drive business performance in an area of high spend (we spend approx. 9 million on freight pa) and have a significant impact on the bottom line.

Once settled into the role & team, we anticipate the ideal candidate will make the role their own and lead the way in terms of strategic planning choosing which projects/ direction to take. In the foreseeable future, this role has scope to grow in many ways including working in the inbound freight space.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying market trends and customer demands for delivery options and provide insight into feasibility and logistics required behind potential changes
  • Create and model freight rates to understand and quantify the impact of any proposed rate changes 
  • Review all freight invoicing and report on any variance to budget or trend
  • Manage, in concert with Senior Management, the freight contracts and partnerships for the business
  • Coordinate and report on freight delivery performance 

About You

  • Territory qualification in management, logistics or supply chain management
  • Mindset is everything: You will be proactive & driven to go the  extra mile
  • Advanced critical thinking & continuous improvement skills are  essential
  • Ability to build relationships & make sound commercial decisions
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Ideally a couple years’ experience in a similar role or related analytical position, however exceptional fresh graduates will be considered
  • Intermediate level of skill with Microsoft Excel & Power BI.
