ThompsonCook is Australia’s leading accounting and finance recruitment consultancy. With offices in both Sydney and Melbourne, we are a team of 25 recruiters focused on supporting the finance functions of our clients. Some of these clients include leading organisations such as Coles, Transurban, SEEK, Macquarie Bank, Medibank, Myer, Bupa, Woolworths, Zara, Boston Consulting Group, Corrs Chambers Westgarth, Dulux, Catch Group and 7 Eleven. 

Our goal is to help our clients navigate an increasingly competitive and challenging accounting talent market through completing search campaigns on their behalf. 

The Opportunity 

ThompsonCook employs a mix of graduates and experienced recruitment consultants. In 2023 we employed six graduates, three in our Sydney office and three in our Melbourne office. We are now looking to expand our team again with additional graduates for a September 2023 and January 2024 intake. 

Supporting the Partners, Directors and Managers, graduates will assist the business with research into leading Melbourne based companies including client review, market mapping, assisting with business marketing and client presentations, event planning and human capital consulting. The successful graduates will take part in the graduate training program which will be heavily focused on developing your technical knowledge and account management skills.

The Expertise 

ThompsonCook is seeking recent graduates who have completed their final year of study across Commerce, Business Management, Law, Arts, Human Resources or Marketing. 

Most likely, you have a strong academic background from one of the leading universities in Melbourne such as Melbourne University, Monash, RMIT, Deakin or La Trobe. You will have part-time/casual work experience in retail, hospitality or sports and have engaged in a range of extra-curricular activities such as volunteering. Most importantly, you are eager to learn and want to grow your career – this is important as it reflects the background of the current team at ThompsonCook.
