Launchpad is for career starters looking to lay the foundations for a successful, fulfilling and exciting career. Whether you’re fresh out of your studies or looking to make a change early on in your career, we’ve crafted a program that sets you up with the skills you need to be successful at Canva (and beyond!).

Where and how you can work

Our flagship campus is in Sydney, Australia. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. If you call New Zealand home, we have our Auckland co-working space too.

But you have choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

• Applying a blend of design skills and software development skills to explore, prototype, and build experiences that define the future of how people interact with content in Canva.
• Working creatively through and around perceived limitations and/or challenges to create delightful customer experiences.
• Working with product designers and researchers to explore and implement user experiences.
• Working with engineers to build out testing capabilities and ensure work can be translated into production.

You're probably a match if

• You're early on in your career (think final-year student to two years experience in your chosen field).
• You are based in Australia or New Zealand and have working rights. Please note, Canva will not be able to sponsor visas and relocate for Early Talent.
• You are ready to present a portfolio of personal projects and case studies from inside or outside the classroom demonstrating interaction design work built-in front-end technologies.
• You have a deep passion for code and creativity.
• You are proficient with front-end technologies for prototyping (HTML, CSS, JS + React).
• You are keen to collaborate with designers, engineers, and non-technical stakeholders.
• You have an aptitude and a desire to pick up new technologies, playing around with them, and finding unique ways to use them.
• You have the ability to receive constructive feedback on work.

About the team

Canva's Launchpad Program is looking for Graduate Designers. It’s an excellent opportunity to kickstart your career in the tech industry, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to innovative projects that will shape the future of technology.

You'll be part of the Creative Technology Team, working closely with other Creative Technologists and teams across Canva, including product teams, Marketing. The Creative Technology team works on a high volume of small but impactful projects across Canva, including internal tools for design and UX and ambitious new interactive experiences for events.
