You will get a tailored resume, interview training, unlimited interviews, access to our network of host companies, an internship placement relevant to your studies, an accredited WIL course where applicable and support during your internship placement.

The Accounting Internship Program is for accounting students who want work experience with local businesses and get academic credit for it. 

The internship program is a great option for you if you are an international student in Australia and want to get Australian work experience and improve your professional skills. The internship program is also open to domestic Australian students. 

If you have recently graduated or if your degree does not require you to do an internship, you can enrol in the Accounting Internship Program and combine your internship placement with an accredited Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program. 

To give you a couple of examples, the host companies based in different locations across Australia  include:

• The accounting department of an Australian IT company.
• A local accounting business.
• A company of business consultants and tax agents.
• The accounting department of a security services company. 

As another example, and depending on your host company, your internship could include any combination of the following types of experiences: 

• Learning about the bookkeeping process.
• Learning about compliance, including reporting, auditing and analysis.
• Working with bookkeeping software.
• Preparing business activity statements and bank reconciliations.
• Learning about account maintenance and customer advice.
• Checking log books and handling aspects of payroll tax.
• Assisting with personal tax return preparation.
• Preparing capital gain tax schedules.
• Assisting with preparing financial reports including balance sheets, invoices and income statements.

The internship program is facilitated by CareerDC, work experience placement coordinators.
