Architecture Internship Program 2024

CareerDC Internships charge a fee for the coordination of each internship program. The Architecture Internship Program is designed to help architectural students in Australia get practical experience with local businesses. 

It's a great option for students who want industry work experience and who need academic credit for the internship. It’s open to both international students in Australia and domestic Australian students. 

If you are a new graduate or if your degree does not require you to do an internship, you can apply for the internship program and combine your internship placement with an accredited Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program. 

To give you a couple of examples, the internship host companies include:

• An established architectural service specialising in town planning.
• A design and project management firm.
• A company that specialises in residential, cultural and commercial designs.

To give you more examples, and depending on your host company, your architecture internship experience could include any combination of the following types of learning opportunities: 

• Planning and programming layout of project(s).
• Hands-on experience in managing design projects from concept development through to completion.
• Getting experience in designing in Sketch Up and AutoCAD, Revit, etc.
• Conducting site visits.
• Drafting floor plans and 3D models.
• Developing and presenting project proposals.
• Preparing drawings, blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
• Using computer-assisted design software and equipment to prepare project designs and plans.
