The Mechatronics Engineering Internship Program is designed for students who need work experience and academic credit for the internship. 

It’s particularly suitable for international engineering students in Australia who’d like to get local work experience with Australian businesses.  

Have you already graduated? Or what if your degree does not require you to do an internship? That’s ok. You can still enrol in the internship program and combine it with an accredited Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program. 

The internship program is facilitated by CareerDC, work experience placement coordinators. 

The Mechatronics Engineering Internship Program will be matched to meet your internship preferences and needs, including start date, duration and location. 

To give you some examples, the host companies include:

• an engineering business specialising in metal product design and assembly,
• a technical services company servicing clients in the mining, construction and aerospace industries, and
• a long-standing engineering company specialising in welding and fixturing systems.

As another example, your internship experience could include any combination of the following, depending on the host company:

• learning 3D CAD part design and drafting,
• assisting with material research and procurement,  
• learning about material handling processes and factory design,
• manufacturing drawings and using SolidWorks,
• getting an understanding of the relationship between the manufacturing process and designing new products, and
• learning stress analysis on mechanical components.
