If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to kick-start your career as a Cadet Ranger with the City of Canning Ranger and Community Safety Service (RCSS). About the role As a Cadet Ranger, you will work closely alongside qualified Rangers and Community Safety Service Officers, participating in a structured training program aimed at developing your skills and knowledge in various aspects of community safety and environmental management such a Fire Hazard and Animal Management. Your role will involve providing exceptional customer service while assisting in the effective enforcement of relevant legislation and the management of various city facilities and services. In this role, you will undertake duties such as:
  • Undertake courses such as Cert IV Local Government, ROCs1 & 2
  • Be mentored by experienced Rangers and Community Safety Officers
  • Education and investigation of legislation
  • Animal control and management
  • Parking control and management
  • Fire Hazard Management and Inspections
  • Litter control
Skills & Experience
  • Minimum completion of Year 10
  • Current valid Driver’s Licence
  • Ability to undertake required courses and complete them (funded by the City of Canning)
  • Sound verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • A strong desire to learn a skill and build a career in Community Safety
  • Ability to obtain a Working with Children Check, Security Officer Licence, First Aid Certificate
