Cadet Town Planner

Council has an exciting opportunity for a Cadet Town Planner to be involved in all aspects of the planning team activities, ensuring you gain hands on experience while studying part time to obtain your planning qualifications.

You will be exposed to some of the key duties of a Planner such as assessment of development applications and providing recommendations, participating in the preparation of statutory planning documents, opportunities to further enhance your skills and knowledge by actively participating in more complex town planning matters and applications. You will assist and provide support to Council's planning team in the coordination and execution of planning initiatives.

With your eye for detail and attention to accuracy you will use your strong written and verbal communication skills to provide a customer focused approach that will deliver enhanced outcomes for our community.

  • Temporary full time position for up to 4 years (depending on stage of course completion).
  • Commencing salary starting from $52,358.80 per annum (depending on stage of course completion).
  • Plus 11% superannuation.
  • Payment of course fees upon receipt of enrolment record.
  • Additional Allowance of $230 per subject for essential student expenses such as administration fees, course materials including textbooks and prescribed readings.
  • Study and Examination Leave for face-to-face and online courses.
