Construction Engineer Student

About the role: The Construction Engineer Student Position is an opportunity for highly motivated individuals to gain practical experience in the field of construction engineering. This role works collaboratively with the Subdivision and Development Certification team to gain hands on experience, understanding and professional development by assisting with the assessment and inspection of minor civil works including driveways, roads and stormwater in accordance with legislative requirements and community expectations. This role also attends to customer enquiries regarding development and general land uses. Duties include:

• Assist with the processing and management of Subdivision Work Certificates and other related approvals under the Roads Act 1993 or Local Government Act 1993.
• Carry out critical stage inspections relating to construction work (including driveways).
• Resolve customer phone and online enquiries.
• Undertake final inspections on public assets.
• Manage bond releases for developments.
• Attend and contribute to pre-lodgement and Conciliation Conference meetings and produce notes for distribution to Attendees.
• Other duties specified by the Coordinator or Manager.

About you:  To be successful in this role you will have:

1. Drivers Licence (Class C) - NSW
2. White Card - General Construction Induction
3. Recently completed or currently undertaking tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, Construction or related discipline.
4. Available to work 4-5 days per week, up to 6 months.
