About the Role The Shires of Toodyay and Victoria Plains are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as an Environmental Sustainability Officer.  Hosted by the Shire of Toodyay, this shared role will involve leading the development and implementation of a Biodiversity Strategy, providing advice, and promoting environmental sustainability within our jurisdictions. Key responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of a Biodiversity Strategy to protect and enhance our natural environment.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on environmental sustainability initiatives to both Shires.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote awareness and engagement in environmental conservation efforts.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of sustainability programs and initiatives.
  • Work closely with local communities to foster a culture of environmental stewardship and responsibility.
Requirements:
  • Proven relevant knowledge and experience in environmental sustainability or related field.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire others.
  • Commitment to working collaboratively in a team environment to achieve continuous improvement.
  • Relevant qualifications in environmental science, natural resource management, or a related discipline.
