About the Role
The Shires of Toodyay and Victoria Plains are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as an Environmental Sustainability Officer. Hosted by the Shire of Toodyay, this shared role will involve leading the development and implementation of a Biodiversity Strategy, providing advice, and promoting environmental sustainability within our jurisdictions.
Key responsibilities
28-02-2024- Lead the development and implementation of a Biodiversity Strategy to protect and enhance our natural environment.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on environmental sustainability initiatives to both Shires.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote awareness and engagement in environmental conservation efforts.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of sustainability programs and initiatives.
- Work closely with local communities to foster a culture of environmental stewardship and responsibility.
- Proven relevant knowledge and experience in environmental sustainability or related field.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire others.
- Commitment to working collaboratively in a team environment to achieve continuous improvement.
- Relevant qualifications in environmental science, natural resource management, or a related discipline.
- Competitive base salary of $72,000-$76,000 per annum plus superannuation.
