The opportunity

Working across the City Projects and City Assets service units, the Graduate Technical Officer (Facilities) is a full-time, entry-level position centred around supporting the planning and delivery of capital projects, minor capital work, as well as programmed and reactive maintenance activities, across both the Building Projects and Facilities Management teams.

Key activities of this role include:

  • assisting to conduct site inspections.
  • undertaking minor design activities.
  • supporting to draft reports, specifications, correspondences, and minutes.
  • assisting in the management of contractors.
  • communicating with internal and external stakeholders.

About you

  • You have completed a tertiary degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Project Management, Contract Management or another relevant field, within the last 2 years.
  • You are seeking an entry-level pathway into the workforce, looking to create a foundation for a career in building project and facilities management.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to prepare clear and concise reports with high level attention to detail.
  • You have well developed organisational skills to plan, prioritise and organise work to meet performance objectives and targets.
  • You are a team player with a willingness to contribute and collaborate well with others.
