The Role

The IMT Service Desk cadet or graduate will support the Information Management Technology team to deliver activities of Council through the provision of Technology support across Council in a proactive and customer focused manner.

The cadet will be provided with work-based training at Council, whilst being required to study a relevant undergraduate degree at a university. This role will gain experience in the efficient and accurate resolution of incidents raised in the helpdesk within agreed time frames and service levels, while attending to service desk enquiries with a strong customer-focussed approach. You will also assist with installation, support, and maintenance of IMT applications, hardware and infrastructure in line with ITIL service management framework.

 

What We Offer

  • Multiple cadet or graduate temporary positions (Up to 2 years)
  • Cadet: Temporary, Part-time - 21 hours per week (3 days per week)
    • Salary from $51,150.68 - $58,595.89 per annum pro rata plus 11% superannuation 
  • Graduate: Temporary, Full-time - 35 hours per week 
    • Salary from $58,048.15 - $67,255.96 per annum plus 11% superannuation

Successful candidates will have

  • Enrolled in a Degree in Information Technology (or related field) or recently completed a Degree in Information Technology (or related field)
  • Ability to deliver high quality customer service to agreed service levels and standards
  • Ability to understand and learn technical terms and processes associated with Information Technology operations
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and use electronic business applications
  • Demonstrated time management skills
  • Flexibility to work as part of a roster to carry out duties on the Help Desk counter, call centre, IT service management (ITSM) system, and administration throughout the day and across the week to meet operational requirements
  • Capacity to swiftly acquire new skills and adjust to evolving technology needs, particularly in the context of help desk support

Eligibility 

Cadet - To be eligible to apply, you must be completing your penultimate or final year of a relevant university undergraduate degree. You will need to be enrolled in the degree for the duration of your contract. 

Graduate – To be eligible to apply, you must have successfully completed a relevant university undergraduate degree
