THE OPPORTUNITY

The Stormwater Asset Engineer assists with the management of the urban drainage network. This includes both assisting with managing the serviceability of the existing network and strategically planning for future network expansion. The position is also a source of technical support for all other areas within Council and private works.

 

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide professional and technical advice and support to stakeholders
  • Maintain and manage the Asset Management of the Stormwater Network
  • Assist with design of new drainage schemes and improvements required to solve drainage problems
  • Ensure design contract documentation meets Council and statutory requirements

 

ABOUT YOU

You are an Engineering Professional who has a keen eye for detail and developed skills in design processes.  You pride yourself on your high level of attention to detail and excellent organisational skills and you are dedicated to delivering projects of a high standard on time.  Additionally, you have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, and work well within a team.

 

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE

  • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent as recognised by Engineers Australia
  • Sound knowledge of drainage analysis, modelling, design, construction and maintenance of stormwater facilities as well as stormwater quality improvement measures and community education
  • Demonstrated ability to provide input into the development and design process to ensure appropriate stormwater outcomes are provided
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and the preparation of contract documentation
