The Position The Technical Officer Traffic, reporting to Manager Asset Engineering will provide engineering services to contribute to the efficient, safe and equitable traffic and transport systems to ensure Council continues to meet legislative and compliance requirements. The role is responsible for the provision of traffic, transport and road safety engineering advice to Council and its customers across a range of matters to create a safe road environment as well as contributing to the amenity of the community. About You You will have an Associate Degree of Engineering (ADNG) – Civil Engineering (or relevant post-secondary qualification in Civil Construction/Engineering) or significant relevant experience related to the key outcomes and accountabilities of the role and it is preferred you hold a current Construction Industry General Induction (white card). Along with the ability to manage multiple tasks, you will have exceptional planning, organisational and project management skills. You will be self-motivated, have the ability to work independently; and have strong written and verbal communication skills; as well as high proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite. Additionally, it is essential that you have a current Queensland Drivers Licence. Experience in civil construction contracts would be advantageous; as well as experience in the planning, design and construction of civil infrastructure within a local government context. Knowledge of Council’s (or of a similar organisation’s) policies, procedures, and legislation would also be desirable. Employee Benefits
