About the opportunity

We have an excellent opportunity for a student currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree, commencing their third year in 2024 specialising in Town Planning, who will commit to a two-year, part-time role. This amazing opportunity offers you valuable work experience and assistance with your university tuition fees.

Working within the Development Services team, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain a broad range of experience and develop the skills to provide professional town planning services to both Council and the community. You’ll assess a diverse range of exciting development proposals, undertake site inspections and provide planning advice to a range of stakeholders. 

About you

To be successful in this position, you must:

  • Be enrolled in and currently studying a Bachelor degree qualification in town planning or other relevant equivalent tertiary qualification;
  • Have successful completion of a minimum of two (2) years full-time study, or equivalent, in the above mentioned degree and satisfactory academic achievement in current undergraduate studies;
  • Be able to demonstrate well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;
  • Be able to demonstrate ability to multi-task and prioritise work within an environment of competing demands;
  • Have strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel);
  • Hold a current Class C unrestricted drivers licence.

Remuneration:

Salary as per the Local Government (State) Award plus superannuation
