 About the Role

As a Graduate Software / Computer Systems Engineer, you’ll get the opportunity to apply what you’ve studied – working in the field solving real-world challenges, challenges that span and extend beyond your discipline.  You will have the opportunity to gain valued experience in engineering design, reliability and project management rotating throughout the different working areas. 

The Engineering teams have a strong working relationship with the mining assets and life cycle management team. There is a strong focus on the operational technology that supports our business and delivering efficient, effective solutions.  Whether it is working on wireless networking underground, new hypervisor installations, or assisting with projects in the Coal Handling preparation plants, your exposure to the full range of operational technology projects is unprecedented.  

A typical day will involve working under the guidance of an experienced team, assisting with designing, developing, supporting the installation, operations, and maintenance of operational technology systems for both open cut and underground mining operations. You will be placed on a rotational program to experience multiple sites, fast tracking your knowledge of our business and the industry.  In addition, you will also be provided with opportunities to work on electrical systems used for computing, communications, and other industrial applications. Seeing the effort you invest, resolve risk, and improve our business is rewarding but not without its hurdles and this will challenge your problem-solving curiosity.

  •  Residential Hunter Valley, NSW.   From wine tasting in Australia’s oldest wine region to bushwalking in World Heritage wilderness, the Hunter is an appealing region for many. Residents have easy access to acclaimed restaurants, beautiful beaches, festivals, heritage and ancient rainforest in the Hunter Valley, Upper Hunter and Barrington Tops. With close proximity to the fifth busiest airport in Queensland, Mackay is serviced by more than 110 flights weekly, with more than 70 of those providing the 1.5 hour flight between Brisbane and Mackay.   • Residential Emerald region, QLD. A number of our sites are located in the Central Highlands region of Central Queensland, Australia. The region encompasses an area of around 60 000 square kilometres, making it just short of the size of Tasmania. Not only is the region home to a globally competitive coal mining industry, it also has a robust and resilient agriculture and horticultural industries. Residents have access to major health and education services. There’s access to many natural attractions including camping, fishing and other water recreational activities. For access to beach and bigger shops, it’s approximately three-hours’ drive to the coast and there are many air services to Brisbane
     

About You

  • A Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical / Computer / Software / Mechatronics) or similar (prior to commencement)
