What you will do: 

The Individual Life business looks after the end-to-end value chain in relation to life insurance that is distributed via a financial advisor, through one of our alliance partners or directly from us online or over the phone via our contact centres.

For the rotations within Individual Life, you’ll have the opportunity to discover and contribute to any of our business units, including:

  • Retail Sales & New Business: this business unit looks after the sale of Life Insurance through a financial adviser, which includes Business Development, New Business Operations & Technical Advice Support. This business unit also looks after our market leading education platform, the TAL Risk Academy.
  • Direct Sales & Marketing: a rotation in this business unit, could include working across the Digital and Marketing, Alliances (partnerships) or Business Management teams.
  • Customer Service & Operations: this rotation could involve you contributing to how we look after the service and retention of our existing customer as part of the Service & Retention Business Management team.
  • Commercial Management: a rotation within this business unit could see you working in our Pricing, Data & Analytics, Performance & Portfolio Management, Product, Business Development or Underwriting teams.
  • Risk, Change & Business Support: this business unit looks after Quality Assurance & Risk, Contact Centre Operations, Adviser Services, Training & Development, Incentives and our Program Office.
  • Comparison: this would see you working across the teams that comprise the Lifebroker business, including Business Management, Sales, Service & Retention and Advice & Product.
  • Individual Life Business Management: this team is responsible for the business management and strategic planning for Individual Life. In this team could include supporting management reporting, involvement in the strategic planning process, delivering internal communications and working with cross functional stakeholders on a range of ad-hoc business strategy projects.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well-rounded background with experience across community and/or extra-curricular activities.
  • Curious mindset, a willingness to learn how things work and a passion for making things better.
  • Interest in roles that not only embrace analytical skills but are also commercial and customer focused.
  • Leadership qualities developed through high school, university, work experience and/or extracurricular activities.
  • Initiative and drive, together with the ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.

Who can apply:

  • The program starts in February 2024 by which time you must be an Australian citizen, a Permanent Resident of Australia or hold a 485 Sub-Class Visa, and willing to undergo references and background checks as required.
  • Completion of an undergraduate or post-graduate degree in the last 2 years or by the end of 2023.
