About this Role

In this role, you will provide technical leadership in support of platforms owned by the Data Shared Enterprise Services.

 

Responsibilities

  • Data Platform Support: Diagnose, analyse, and resolve technical problems within the data engineering system, leveraging your understanding of data technologies.

  • Process Documentation and Process Adherence: Document data platform processes and procedures for operational efficiency and knowledge transfer. Ensure alignment with organization ITSM practices for service and incident management.

  • Maintain service health and performance: Monitor key metrics such as uptime, latency, and resource utilization to proactively identify and address potential issues. Actively engage with data platform users and internal teams to understand their needs and ensure alignment with service performance expectations.

  • Incident Resolution: Participate in data platform incident investigation, diagnosis, and resolution process.

  • Access Control and User Management: Evaluate user requests for data platform access based on established security policies and access control principles. Implement least privilege access and maintain accurate user profiles and permissions to ensure data security and compliance.

  • Change Management and Implementation: Actively participate in change planning, testing, and deployment processes to minimize disruptions and ensure service continuity.

  • Continuous Improvement and Automation: Develop and implement automation scripts to streamline manual data platform tasks like monitoring, reporting, and access provisioning. Actively participate in identifying and optimizing data platform processes, documentation, and tools to enhance efficiency and maintainability.

  • Governance and Adherence to Industry Standards:  Ensure compliance with established data governance policies, industry standards, and regulations across the data platform.

  • Data Innovation and Emerging Technologies: Stay abreast of new data technologies and tools. Evaluate and implement innovative solutions to improve data platform efficiency, agility, and value to the business.

 

Desired Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent industry experience

  • 0-3 year’s experience

  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.

  • Understanding of data security, access control, and compliance requirements.

  • Knowledge of major cloud platforms and their relevant data services.

  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and taking ownership.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

 

This role will amount to $60,000 plus superannuation for a Graduate working full-time for 12 months.
