Join Our Graduate Program:

Are you a highly motivated graduate currently studying Electrical engineering? We’re inviting you to be part of our excellent 2-year program within our manufacturing division. As a Process Control Engineer Graduate, you’ll have the unique opportunity to gain a deep understanding of how this team controls the refinery to maximise profits.  

You’ll be part of a dynamic team that operates in an agile environment, gaining first-hand experience of process control improvements to target refinery profitability, safety and reliability. You will also be exposed to supporting implementation of capital project improvements.

Hired on a permanent full-time basis, you will learn and develop under the guidance of our Leaders and teams. Our Leaders bring strong technical expertise, cross-functional experience, and a commercial focus that propels our business forward. They are dedicated to passing on their knowledge to the next generation, which could be you!
 

Program Details:

  • Start Date: February 2025
  • Location: Brisbane based Program – Lytton Refinery
  • Hybrid: This role will require graduates to be onsite but has flexibility with start and finish times.

About you:

To be successful, you will be entering your final year of study in 2024, or completed your undergraduate within the last two years and will be available to commence full-time employment in February 2025. We seek individuals who showcase complex problem solving capabilities, strong technical skills and enjoys working in a team environment.
 

Ideally, the Process Control Engineer Graduate will be an individual who has a strong interest to pursue this as a career. This graduate position does not offer rotations due to the complexity of the role.

You will have excellent academic results, be curious to learn and eager to develop your professional career.

We look for success-orientated, agile, and innovative thinkers. We love graduates who take pride in their work and aspire to be part of a high-performance team.

During the application process, you will be asked to provide your top two graduate stream preferences. If you apply to multiple streams, please be aware we will only consider the first two preferences on your initial application. If you change your preferences in subsequent applications outside of your initial application, Ampol will not consider your application.

The recruitment process for our graduates is as follows:

What to include? Personal details, CV, GPA, transcripts, and right-to-work evidence. 

  • Complete a video interview

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a digital interview and psychometric testing. A fair and equitable review of your skills, background, and motivations will take place by the Recruitment Team. 

  • Shortlisted applicants will attend an assessment session - What to expect?

A chance for you to bring your best self and hear from us, you will undertake an assessment centre day in September and specific activity aligned to the business area. 

  • Offers

Formal offers and pre-employment checks are undertaken including a medical for specific roles.  

  • Commence Graduate program in February 2025!

Ampol’s grad program goes for two years and involves four six-month rotations.
