Who Can Apply

• The internship program is a great option for you if you are an international student in Australia and want to get Australian work experience and improve your professional skills.
• The program is also open to domestic Australian students.
• If you've recently graduated or your degree does not require an internship, you may be able to participate and combine your placement with an accredited Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program.

About the Host Companies and Internship Tasks

To give you a few examples, the host companies based in different locations across Australia include:

• an accounting department of an Australian IT company
• a local accounting business
• a company of business consultants and tax agents
• an accounting department of a security services company

As another example, and depending on your host company, your internship could include any combination of the following types of experiences:

• Checking log books and handling aspects of payroll tax
• Assisting with personal tax return preparation
• Preparing capital gain tax schedules
• Learning about the bookkeeping process
• Learning about compliance, including reporting, auditing and analysis
• Working with bookkeeping software
• Preparing business activity statements and bank reconciliation
• Learning about account maintenance and customer advice
