Who Can Apply

• Students in Australian universities and colleges
  The internship program is designed for accounting students who want work experience with local businesses and get academic credit for it. It's a great option if you are an international student in Australia and want to get Australian work experience and improve your professional skills. The internship program is also open to domestic Australian students.
• New graduates and students without an internship requirement
  If your degree does not have an internship component or you've already graduated, you can enrol in the Accounting Internship Program and combine your work experience placement with an accredited Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program.

About the Tasks and Learning Experiences

• Learning about checking log books and handling aspects of payroll tax
• Assisting with personal tax return preparation
• Learning about preparing capital gain tax schedules
• Assisting with the preparation of financial reports including balance sheets, invoices and income statements
• Learning about the bookkeeping process
• Learning about compliance, including reporting, auditing and analysis
• Experiencing working with bookkeeping software
• Getting involved in preparing business activity statements and bank reconciliation
• Learning about account maintenance and customer advice
