CareerDC charges a coordination fee for each internship program. The service includes a tailored CV update, interview coaching, access to host company interviews, a work experience placement matched to your studies, an accredited Work Integrated Learning (WIL) course if required, and support during your internship.

Develop your architecture skills in a professional setting

The Architecture Internship Program gives you the opportunity to apply your academic learning in a professional workplace. Over 12 weeks, you’ll gain first-hand exposure to design and project processes, improve your technical skills, and build confidence interning as part of an architectural team.

Why choose this internship program?

  • Apply your studies in real projects
Depending on your host company, you may work on tasks such as drafting, 3D modelling, interior design, or architectural graphics using tools like AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, SketchUp, Lumion, or Photoshop.
  • Learn how the architecture industry operates
From concept development through to documentation and delivery, you’ll gain insight into the full workflow of architectural practice. You’ll also build familiarity with building codes, planning procedures, and client-focused processes.
  • Strengthen technical and professional skills
In addition to getting technical experience, you’ll grow essential workplace skills such as teamwork, adaptability, and communication while collaborating with experienced architects and designers.

Who can apply?

  • University students in Australia
If you’re currently enrolled in an architecture or design-related degree, this program can help you meet your placement requirement while gaining experience in the Australian architecture industry.
  • New graduates and students without a placement requirement
If your course does not include an internship component, or you have already graduated, you can still take part by combining your placement with a WIL program.

Your 12-week internship will be coordinated to align with your academic background, career goals, preferred location, and availability. Example host companies include:

  • A registered architectural practice delivering services in both architecture and interior design
  • A residential architecture firm specialising in custom homes and functional living spaces
  • A multi-sector architectural team leading projects in housing, commercial developments, and multi-residential buildings
