About CareerDC, Your Internship Program Coordinator

CareerDC is a work experience placement coordinator. We were established in 2011 to support international and local students in Australia in getting degree-related work experience through coordinated internship programs with Australian host companies.

About the Work Experience Placements

Your 12-week placement will be coordinated to match your academic background, work experience needs and preferred location as well as start date and total length. As an example, the internship host companies include:

• A building and civil construction company in geotechnical engineering
• A construction company in luxury dwelling construction
• A company specialising in sustainable structures

Depending on your host company, your internship placement could include learning experiences such as:

• Contributing to tender documentation and contract administration
• Supporting design risk assessment and project planning
• Assisting with cost estimation, budgeting and reporting
• Preparing technical drawings with CAD, GIS or other software
• Reviewing building codes, zoning ordinances, and other regulations that might apply to a specific project

About the Internship Program Inclusions

The Civil Engineering Internship Program coordinated by CareerDC includes:

• A degree-relevant work experience placement
• CV editing and internship interview preparation and coaching
• Interview coordination with host companies
• Support during the internship placement
• A certificate of completion at the end of the placement
