Who the Program Is Suitable For

• Current Engineering Students in Australia
  If you're currently studying engineering and need an internship for academic credit, this program is open to you. Both local and international students in Australian universities are welcome to apply.
• Recent Graduates or Students Without an Internship Requirement
  If your course does not require a placement or you've already finished your studies and recently graduated, you may still be able join the program and combine the work experience placement with an accredited Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program.

About Host Companies and Internship Tasks

Your 12-week placement will be coordinated to match your academic background, career development goals and preferred location as well as start date and total length.

Example host organisations include a long-established construction company with decades of infrastructure project delivery, a utility engineering business providing specialist civil and electrical services and a civil engineering consultancy active in urban development and large-scale planning.

Your day-to-day internship tasks and experiences will depend on your host company but could include:

• Preparing technical drawings with CAD, GIS or other software
• Supporting design risk assessment and project planning
• Assisting with cost estimation, budgeting and reporting
• Contributing to tender documentation and contract administration
