Who can apply

• University students in Australia
  If you are an international or local student studying engineering at an Australian university or college, this program helps you complete your placement requirement and gain professional experience.
• New graduates and students without a placement requirement
  If your course does not include an internship requirement, or you have recently finished your studies, you can still take part through a WIL program designed to add structure and academic value to your work experience placement.

Host companies and tasks

Your internship will be matched with your academic pathway, location preference and availability. Example host companies include:

• A construction engineering company delivering infrastructure projects
• A technology-driven manufacturing company
• A renewable energy business focused on sustainable innovations

Your internship tasks will vary depending on your engineering major and host company, but may include:

• Drafting and modelling with engineering software
• Supporting system analysis, prototype testing and quality control
• Assisting with technical documentation and project coordination
• Contributing to research, simulations or design reviews
