Graduate AccountantAbout the Opportunity Maitland City Council's Pathways program is a fantastic way to kick-start your career and gain professional experience in an industry you are passionate about! Commencing in early 2026, for a period of two years, we have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Accountant to join our organisation. In this role, you will undertake a graduate program developed specifically for you, giving you exposure to the Councils expenditure team. You will undertake a variety of financial functions including payroll, accounts payable, processing and posting receipts and other general accounting duties. This role will help you to develop a solid foundation to your accounting career and help you grow from the ground up! About you To be successful in this role you will possess:
  • Degree level qualifications in Business, Commerce, Accounting or related discipline completed within the previous two years
  • Contemporary industry knowledge of accounting and financial reconciliation
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, meet strict deadlines and continuously improve processes
  • Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills
Benefits This Graduate position is a full time, temporary role working a 35-hour week, with a salary commencing from $70,728.84 per year + 12% super.
