Graduate Environmental OfficerThe Opportunity Maitland City Council's Pathways program is a fantastic way to kick-start your career in engineering and gain professional experience in an industry you are passionate about! Commencing in early 2026, for a period of two years, we have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Environment Officer to join our organisation. In this role, you will undertake a graduate program and gain experience in environmental functions in a local government environment. You will support the team in the areas of environmental compliance, protection, improvement and sustainable practices. You will provide input into the development, implementation and presentation of management plans, policies and programs, relevant to environmental sustainability and awareness and environmental health and compliance. These duties are going to help you develop a solid foundation to your environmental career and help you grow from the ground up! About you To be successful in this role you will possess:

• Degree level qualifications in either Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management Environmental Engineering or related degree, in the previous two years or completion of degree by early 2026.
• Contemporary industry knowledge of public health, environmental, waste management
• Current Class C driver's licence.

Benefits This is a full time, temporary role working a 35-hour week, with a salary commencing from $70,728.84 per year + 12% super.
