The Role

Join our Information Management & Technology (IMT) team and play a key role in supporting Council’s Day‑to‑day operations by providing proactive, customer‑focused technology support. As an IMT Service Desk Graduate, you’ll help deliver efficient tech solutions across the organisation while building your skills in a supportive, growth‑focused environment.

As a recent graduate, you’ll have the opportunity to

  • Be the friendly first point of contact for tech queries, building your confidence as you help staff find solutions and learn their systems.
  • Develop hands‑on troubleshooting skills by resolving a variety of IT requests and striving for first‑call resolutions.
  • Gain practical experience working with hardware, software, and Council systems, supporting setups, maintenance, and everyday operations.
  • Learn how Georges River Council manages technology assets while helping ensure equipment is tracked, maintained, and running smoothly.
  • Contribute to process improvements by documenting fixes, updating the IMT knowledge base, and supporting better ways of working.
  • Stay curious and build your technical knowledge by keeping up with new technologies and industry trends.
  • Support the reliability and security of Council’s tech environment by following established procedures and learning best‑practice cybersecurity.

The successful candidate will have

  • Has recently completed a degree in Information Technology or a related field with an IT component and is keen to kick‑start their career.
  • Enjoys helping people and can deliver friendly, high quality customer service.
  • Is quick to learn new technical concepts, systems, and processes.
  • Feels confident using digital tools and can pick up new applications with ease.
  • Communicates clearly, both in writing and in person, and builds positive working relationships.
  • Can manage their time well, solve problems proactively, and adapt to new challenges.
  • Is flexible and able to work as part of a roster, supporting customer service across the counter, call centre, and digital channels as needed.

  • Salary from $61,882.24 to $71,698.22 plus 12% superannuation.
