The Department of Justice and Regulation delivers high-quality services to Victorians and supports a safe, just, innovative and thriving Victoria. Ministerial portfolios within the department include Police and Emergency Services, the Attorney-General, Bushfire Response, Corrections, Crime Prevention, Liquor, Gaming and Racing Regulation and Consumer Affairs.

The graduate program aims to recruit and retain high quality graduates who have a breadth of perspectives and expertise for future leadership, policy and specialist careers within the Department of Justice and Regulation (DJR).

Our 12 month development program offers graduates the opportunity to learn about the department and contribute to a variety of government initiatives.

Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are promoted to ongoing positions within their ‘home’ unit.

Our grads do work that makes a real difference to Victorians’ lives. You’ll see the positive impact of your efforts – that’s an everyday experience when you’re writing policies that shape our state’s future, aiding people to rehabilitate as they progress through the community corrections system, or helping the department to thrive as a whole in one of our numerous support roles.

Professional services graduates are located in our Melbourne offices and come from a range of academic disciplines, which are most often related to justice and regulation policy, programs and corporate services. We welcome applications from graduates from all disciplines.
