Meet the team

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) represents the State of Queensland in criminal cases. The ODPP’s significant responsibility is to prosecute criminal matters in the High Court of Australia, Court of Appeal (Qld), Supreme Court, Mental Health Court, District Court, the Childrens Court of Queensland, and the Magistrates Court (in limited locations and matters).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transcription excellence: Produce high-quality transcripts of various recordings, including interviews, search warrants, field tapes, 000 calls, and witness statements, following our Format and Style Manual.
  • Administrative support: Provide essential keyboard and word processing support, along with general office duties.
  • Data management: Maintain spreadsheets for daily and weekly statistical reports and work assignments.
  • Team collaboration: Develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members and key stakeholders, such as legal staff and their clerks.

What we are looking for:

  • Typing proficiency: High levels of accuracy and speed in typing.
  • Attention to detail: Ability to focus for long periods and maintain a high level of detail.
  • Team player: Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver services to legal staff.
  • Time management: Experience in managing time and prioritising tasks, preferably in a legal environment.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency in using computer software, including Microsoft Office, databases, and transcription software.
  • Communication skills: Strong communication skills to liaise with multiple stakeholders regarding transcription outputs.
  • Professionalism: A high standard of ethics and integrity in all work.
