👩⚖️ About the Role
As a Court Services Officer, you’ll be part of a supportive team that ensures the smooth running of court operations. This role is ideal for students or graduates from fields such as law, criminology, justice, public administration, or social work who are looking to gain hands-on experience in the legal system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Court Operations: Assist with the daily functioning of court registries and courtrooms, including preparing courtrooms, managing documents, and supporting judicial officers.
- Engage with the Public: Provide respectful, trauma-aware assistance to court users in person, over the phone, and in writing.
- In-Court Duties: Help administer oaths, manage exhibits, and operate courtroom technology.
- Administrative Excellence: Process legal documents, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with procedures and legislation.
- Safety and Awareness: Identify and escalate risks related to domestic, family, and sexual violence.
- Continuous Learning: Stay up to date with court procedures, seek feedback, and contribute to service improvements.
