As a Legal Support Officer, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting Crown Prosecutors and Legal Officers in preparing and presenting matters before the Court. Your work will directly contribute to the delivery of fair and effective justice across Queensland. 

As a Legal Support Officer, your duties will include:

  • Providing comprehensive administrative support to Crown Prosecutors and Legal Officers in the preparation of briefs for trial and sentencing.
  • Coordinating the collection of supplementary witness statements, criminal history checks, and additional information from arresting officers.
  • Managing routine correspondence and liaising with police, legal practitioners, and court personnel.
  • Handling court-related filing and maintaining accurate records of all filed documents.
  • Operating and maintaining a reliable bring-up system for matters managed within Chambers.
  • Preparing and coordinating the service of subpoenas.
  • Communicating sensitively and effectively with victims and witnesses, providing them with relevant information.
  • Participating in regional court circuits of up to three weeks as required.
