About this role
As a Graduate Planner at TMR, you’ll review and manage land use planning and development applications to make sure they follow the Planning Act 2016 and the Transport Infrastructure Act 1994. Your role helps protect the safety and operational integrity of Queensland’s state-controlled transport network.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Assist with the development applications related to road, rail, and public transport infrastructure.
- Learn to use and apply skills in scheduling, microsimulation, data visualisation, planning and mapping software
- Undertake analysis of public transport data to inform changes to our services and provide advice on the state of the network or specific issues
- Engage with stakeholders regarding planning instruments and development proposals affecting the state-controlled network.
- Contribute to strategic planning initiatives to support sustainable transport infrastructure development.
Specialisations and development:
- Gain experience in development assessment for road, rail, and public transport projects.
- Build knowledge of strategic transport planning and TMR’s statewide infrastructure priorities.
- Learn to use the eDAM system for managing development applications.
- Understand TMR’s areas of interest in development and how these are assessed in planning processes.
- Develop skills in stakeholder consultation, technical assessment, and planning coordination.
