What do our staff say about working for FTI?

Maryanna Vasilareas – SC

FTI has afforded me the opportunity to work with top-tier clients, on high profile, contentious issues. You are surrounded by professionals who are the best in their field and who take the time to help you grow and better develop your professional skills as a junior. Every day I am faced with new and challenging tasks, which is the part of my job that I love the most.

Geoff Davis – CF

FTI has a great culture that brings together people committed to delivering outstanding work and solving complex problems. The progression as a graduate to assume more responsibility for projects is fantastic and colleagues will gladly offer guidance where needed. I really enjoy the day-to-day interactions with staff and the diversity of interests we have in the team. I was attracted to FTI because of its standard of excellence and the variety it offers as an employer. With studies in Commerce and Law I wanted to be in a professional environment that would challenge me to further develop critical thinking, technical fundamentals, communication skills and key relationships. On all of these accounts FTI performs strongly. FTI provides a number of very interesting opportunities for graduates to develop professional qualifications and industry relationships. Alongside studying towards my CA, I have been enrolled in an introduction to insolvency course and attended a number of in-house training sessions ranging from forensic accounting to negotiation tactics. I was also thrilled to join the APAC FTI Agri team for their annual strategy day in Sydney last month.

Lauren Critchley - CF

I have been with FTI Brisbane for 3 years, having joined as a Graduate in my last semester of University. Earlier this year I was given the opportunity to go on a 6 month secondment to our Perth office which has been an invaluable experience both professionally and personally. FTI has supported me in commencing my CA studies, both financially and by allowing time off for study and exams. Having a number of colleagues completing theirs at the same time has been a big advantage and made studying and attending classes a lot easier. FTI is a huge supporter of charity events, the most memorable for me being a 55km trek for Oxfam Australia which I completed with 7 colleagues in June 2015.

Marcin Smalec - FAAS

I feel that my own professional and personal development and goals are important to FTI Consulting. After university I had a general idea of what I wanted to do in my career but I didn’t want to make a definitive decision at that stage.  Even though I started as a Graduate in the Corporate Finance and Restructuring segment, my senior colleagues knew about my interest in forensic accounting.  I was given opportunities to work with the FLC segment and, with the guidance and support of the company; I ultimately decided to join their team.

Samantha Tomvald - Tech

Every day at FTI is different and presents itself with new and exciting challenges. We often find ourselves wearing many hats throughout the day. The work we do is interesting, requires strategic planning, and foresight, however, the absolute best part about working for FTI is that I get to spend every day working alongside and learning from smart, analytical, and instinctive people. The career opportunities that FTI has offered me are unparalleled. As a Senior Consultant I have travelled interstate many times, spent weeks in our UK office, and was seconded to China twice to work on very high profile matters. I also work very closely with the US and Asia Pacific. At FTI you are allowed the freedom and support to make your career what you wish – there is no better place to work if you have the right attitude!
