Tim Armstrong, based in Singapore - Global Head of Occupier Strategy & Solution.

1. A little snap shot of your journey at KF thus far.

   My career with Knight Frank started in 2007 in the Brisbane office where I started as a Sales & Leasing Executive in the Brisbane office. I worked with some fantastic agents, in a fantastic team and learnt a great deal. I worked my way up to Director in the Brisbane office before being transferred to Sydney in 2015 to lead the NSW Industrial. I saw this as a great opportunity to challenge myself in a new market and to broaden my skillset. In 2017 I was promoted to lead the Australian Industrial business before relocating with Knight Frank to Singapore in 2019 to lead the APAC Occupier business. Late in 2021 I was fortunate enough to be appointed to lead Knight Frank’s Global Occupier Service line, remaining based in Singapore.

2. Why did you choose to work at KF initially?

   I was working for a small local in Brisbane and a friend of mine was working for Knight Frank. He encouraged me to speak to Knight Frank because he thought my values aligned and the company could be a great next step in my career. I tell him that I owe him one every time we catch up

3. Favourite thing about your role & our business

   I love the collaborative nature of Knight Frank and that the people in the business really trust each other and get on with things. It has a really entrepreneurial approach about it and the culture at Knight Frank is so special and unique. Specific to my role, I love the diversity of the people and clients I deal with and that each day is a new journey.

4. Tips of future grads and applicants (i.e. how they may use their degree day to day, support they may receive etc)

   Really launch yourself into all aspects of the business and the culture. Nothing comes without effort but that effort and a positive approach is always well received and goes a long way. Use the knowledge and skills from your degree but never be afraid to ask questions.
