The Opportunity

Lendlease is looking to consolidate and grow its market-leading contract automation platform, Contract Express.  This has created an opportunity for a Legal Technologist to work with our operations and in-house legal teams in Investment, Development and Construction (IDC) to support, enhance and maintain Contract Express on a 2-year Fixed Term Contract.

 

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for day to day operation of Contract Express, assisting business users in accessing the ‘self service’ platform for contract generation and execution using DocuSign, trouble shooting business users requests, managing license allocations and project managing new contract automation projects. Your responsibilities will also include:
 

  • Day to day support to enable business users to access the online platform, prepare, negotiate, complete and execute a Lendlease template contract;

  • Training new business users in the use of the system, facilitating setup of new projects, fielding requests for guidance and support, collating feedback for continuous improvement;

  • Project management of new contract automation projects with business stakeholders and legal team, including change management and financial allocation ;

  • Identify and prioritise process inefficiencies and develop process improvement strategies to streamline workflows, promote standardisation, increase operational effectiveness and drive continuous improvement;

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams (including the legal team) and various stakeholder levels to ensure seamless integration of Contract Express in business operations ;

  • Data Analytics using data from the system, building dashboards in Power BI for reporting and analysis tools in Excel to create transparency, gain commercial insights, alignment of resources and to inform decision making to determine further use-cases;

  • Vendor Management with Thomson Reuters, owner of Contract Express though developing strong relationships for trouble shooting issues, rolling out system upgrades, managing licences and opportunities to scale the platform (drawing on data analysis and familiarity with ‘front line’ use of Contract Express)

 

About you

As the ideal candidate, you will be sociable, enthusiastic, and able to “hit the ground running”.  You will have:

  • A basic level of commercial acumen and an interest in understanding commercial contracts and legal operations for in house teams. Preferably, you have a background in contract administration and familiar with cloud based technology; 

  • Prior coding experience will be very helpful for this role, but not essential for an applicant who has demonstrated quantitative / logic ability and is eager to develop coding skills;

  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated prioritisation, multi-tasking, and organisational skills;

  • Ability to think outside the box, identify opportunities to innovate and embed change;

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to establish effective working relationships;

  • A willingness and confidence to interact with a variety of stakeholders to provide guidance and support for change management;

  • Exhibits a development-oriented attitude with a strong desire and open-mindedness to continuously upskill and acquire new expertise;

  • Proficiency in data analytics using tools like Excel and/or PowerBI, including the ability to analyse and interpret complex datasets to derive insights and trends; and

  • Solid skills in Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel and SharePoint and highly desirable to have skills in Power Platform.
