Tip - you will need to upload a PDF or Word version of your resume and your driver licence as part of this process, so make sure you have easy access to these prior to starting.  A cover letter is not required, however, there is the option to upload one if you wish

  2. Online Assessment

If your application progresses through our initial screening process, you will be invited to participate in a short interactive video and question exercise where we will ask a few questions to help us understand what is important to you in the workplace. There are no right or wrong answers, and you will receive a feedback summary upon completion.

Tip – invitations with full instructions will be emailed to you; please keep an eye out on your emails and remember to check your junk/spam folders.

  3. Video Interview

After you have completed the values assessment, you will then move directly to the next step of the process which is a short virtual interview.  We will ask you 5-6 questions and your answers will be recorded.  We will take you through a brief set up check beforehand to make sure your microphone and camera are working. You will have two minutes to answer each question which is plenty of time, so please provide examples.

Tip – make sure you complete the assessments in the time frame specified and if you do need an extension, contact your Talent Professional.

  4. Interview

If you advance to this stage, you will be invited to meet with two members of the hiring team, either face to face or via MS teams.  Although there are set behavioural questions to answer, you will also learn more about the specific services local to you and have plenty of time to ask questions of your own to ensure that we are the right fit for you too.

Tip – think about why you have applied and what you can bring to the role.  We value your personality, interests, passions, and motivators just as much as your skill set and experience.

  5. Pre-employment, Clearances and Probity Checks

During this final recruitment stage, our People Support team are on hand to guide you through the various checks required for working in your local service.  For more information on the types of checks required, please click here https://www.lifestylesolutions.org.au/careers/clearances-and-requirements-to-be-a-support-worker/

Tip – you can start collating these documents prior to your interview to help speed this process up.

  6. Onboarding and Training

After receiving your contract and completing your new starter paperwork, you will be issued with a log in to our learning system where you will access mandatory online internal and external training modules. You will be paid for these by completing a timesheet once you’ve finished.  Upon completion your line manager will be in touch to organise your first two buddy shifts.  You will also be booked in for face-to-face training within the first month of employment and online training modules throughout your employment.

Tip – Read all module instructions and emails carefully as some modules are external and you will need to create your own account to gain access.

  7. Progress Your Career!

All vacancies are posted on the careers section of our internal intranet page. Opportunities to progress your career include the roles of Senior Worker, Therapeutic Support Manager and Service Specialist and these roles can be in any of our services across Australia.  When you join us, you will meet many people in these roles and find that most began their journey as a Support Worker.

Tip – regularly check the careers page for upcoming opportunities and speak with your manager about your career aspirations.
