We understand it’s not always easy to find your way.  Our Financial Markets Summer Intern Program is a bespoke 4-week paid program run over the university summer break where you’ll learn all about our fast-paced global financial markets team. 

How our Financial Markets Summer Program works

Through a series of tailored rotations across different teams within our financial markets business, you’ll discover the value we create for our clients whilst building core knowledge across foreign exchange, interest rates, credit and commodities markets. You'll experience a dynamic work environment and be supported with learning sessions, networking with senior leaders, trading simulation games and a dedicated support network. This highly bespoke program is an investment into your future career as a financial markets specialist. 

At the end of our program, you’ll have the opportunity to apply and potentially receive an early offer for our Graduate Program the following year. 

This program is offered in Sydney only. 

Join our Markets Team

Our Markets team use sales, trading and research expertise to provide local and offshore customers with access to both traded and illiquid markets, including fixed income, money markets, credit, derivatives, currencies and commodities. This includes trading between all types of banks, superannuation funds and domestic and multi-national companies. 

Our business covers every segment of the corporate and investor markets, from global supranationals through to high-net-worth customers looking to build their investment portfolio.

We’re looking for disciplined and high performing students who have a passion for financial markets and are looking to build a career in areas like trading, sales, economic research or quantitative research. We’re looking for a diverse range of skills and we recruit from a wide range of degrees. Among other things, we’re looking for students with great communication and interpersonal skills, students who enjoy solving quantitative problems, or students who are comfortable working with code to find a solution. Above all, we arere looking for students with a high level of personal ownership and learning agility. We want our successful applicants to be part of a team where attention to detail, complex problem solving, and confidence are paramount.

The Application Process

To be eligible for our Summer Intern Program you MUST:

  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident at the time of submitting your application
  • Be in your penultimate (second last) year of your undergraduate/postgraduate degree and free to commence full time employment by November 2024
  • Be based in Sydney 
  • Commit to and be available for full time employment over the 4-week program
  • Complete the online application and if successful you’ll progress to an online test, video interview and engagement centre. Engagement centres will be held face-to-face.
